Indignation at the illegal broadcasting of the “Kapetan Svouras” (“Captain Whirlygig”) series
Director Kleoni Flessa and musician Herakles Pashalides are expressing, with a letter, their indignation about the illegal broadcasting of their intellectual work, by the “pirate” (E)DT. The announcement is as follows:
“Today, on the 10-7-2013, we were informed, to our suprise, that the “Kapetan Svouras” series that we have signed as director and musician respectively in 1986 for ERT, was illegally broadcasted, and without us knowing at all, by the (E)DT channel.
This action is completely against the copyright legislation, which those in charge are aware of, and of course any violation of it constitutes an offence.
As creators, both I, Kleoni Flessa, director, and Herakles Pashalides, musician of the series, have a legal and moral right to decide about our consent regarding where, when and how our work will be presented.
We are protesting about this insult to our work and personality and reserve all our legal rights.
