PRESS RELEASE: GREAT RISK OF DESTRUCTION OF THE ERT’S MACHINES AT THE INSTALLATIONS ON KATEHAKI AVENUE

This morning, a colleague electronics technician of ERT was allowed by the police forces to visit her place of work in the Central Control of the ERT installations on Katehaki avenue, in order to get some personal belongings.

There, she realised that the central cooling of the room where the machines are installed was not functioning, obviously after a probable sudden change in DEI (public electricity company) electric tension. The temperature in the room was exceptionally high, causing a severe risk for irreparable damage or even complete destruction of the machines.

It is being underlined, for one more time, that this equipment must operate under constant cooling, in temperatures that must in no case exceed 20 degrees Centigrade.

The colleague informed the head of the police forces about the imminent danger for the equipment; his answer was that his only order has to do with the guarding of the place.

The ERT employees who, for over a month now, have been caring to safeguard its property, are noting for one more time that the catastrophic consequences of the ERT closure are beyond estimation.

Those who with such ease and sloppiness decided the closure of ERT and the removal of the employees – where this has been achieved will be responsible also for the possible destruction of equipment worth many millions, which has been paid with the Greek citizens’ money.
