The government shut down state broadcaster ERT  because it was not serving its interests. Arguments such as low ratings and burden to state budget have collapsed. According to data released by Nielsen  the three channels of state broadcaster  ERT S.A take third place in viewers ratings with a total of 15% while the company was  profitable for three successive years 2010 (€34 million ), 2011 (€56.9 million)  and 2012(€15 million)  despite its disregard.
