The Greek constitution, the right to information, the concerted opposition of employees and the Greek society as a whole, and the unprecedented global outrage, keep reminding it to the Greek authorities.

We cannot comply with Mr. Samaras' call for us to abandon our posts and the public broadcaster’s assets that have been obtained with Greek people’s money and, in many cases, are in the employees’ charge and responsibility.

Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation employees, loyal to their conscience and their sense of duty, continue the fight to keep the public informed and to guard the public property. The transgression of the Greek public broadcaster closure is not our responsibility and, consequently, it cannot be rectified by us.

The screens are being kept “black” against the Council of State’s order by decision of the Greek administration.

The Greek public broadcaster has an identity and a role. It is called ERT and its main goal is to offer information, culture, sports events and entertainment to the public.
