Indignation for the brutal assassination of Pavlos Fissas
The funeral of the 34 year-old anti-fascist musician Pavlos Fissas was held in the cemetery of Schistos. Thousands of citizens attended. Fissas died in Keratsini from the stabs of the Golden Dawn member Giorgos Roupakias. Roupakias was arrested half an hour later and pled guilty. He also admitted his political identity. Yesterday in Keratsini and other cities of Greece, anti-fascist rallies were organised against the atrocious political assassination. More than 4.000 citizens gathered in Keratsini. Serious clashes occurred between a small group of hooded persons and the police. 6 demonstrators and a policeman were injured.
Second day of strikes for the public sector
Within the framework of the 48hour mobilisation of the Supreme Administration of Public Officials against suspension, the public sector is on strike for the second day in a row. Despite the avalanche of mobilisations, joint ministerial decisions were signed for the abolition of 1.929 positions in 9 ministries, in sight of Troika’s control.
