New violation of labour law in the Public Television
An amendment, which was integrated in a bill of the Ministry of Environment and which was submitted in Parliament, foresees the prolongation of the 2month contracts from the first recruitment in the Public Television and for all those who will be hired before the full operation of the New Hellenic Radio Internet and Television. The maximum period of employment will be 10 months.
POSPERT, the Panhellenic federation of Associations of Television and Radio Station Personnel reports that this constitutes an insult of fundamental constitutional laws and a violation of all regulations of workers protection.
For this reason, ERT’s workers will file a complaint to the competent prosecution, political parties and the European Parliament.
Eurogroup convened in Luxembourg
Eurogroup convened in Luxembourg today. The main subject was Ireland’s progress. Irish representatives stated that Ireland will exit the bailout plan before the end of 2013. They also convened about the developments in Greece, Portugal and Cyprus which are also funded by European Union and IMF loans.
Despite the rumors about partners pressuring Greece to take new measures, cohorts in Athens state that this cannot be done presently.
