The investigative judge and prosecutor decided to order to detention of Golden Dawn leader Nikos Michaloliakos, charged with participating and directing a criminal ring, along with Giorgos Patelis head of Golden Dawn’s branch of Nikea, where Pavlos Fyssas was murdered.
Nikos Michaloliakos appears to have had the absolute leading role, both in the political and operational parts of the party.
Golden Dawn MPs, Kasidiaris, Panagiotaros and Michos were set free on bail, celebrating their release by verbally assaulting journalists, while referring to a “fabrication” that will crash down in the courts.
Ilias Kasidiaris’ lawyer confirmed his client’s intention to be a candidate for the Athens municipality.
Meanwhile, the Hellenic Police is undergoing some dramatic changes in light of the recent media revelations regarding the criminal activities of Golden Dawn. The Chief Inspector of Southern Greece and the Regional Director of Central Greece submitted their resignations to the ministry of Public Order, citing “personal reasons”.
